Heat wave to continue with highs at or near 110 through Friday 6/23

Bakersfield has been experiencing record breaking heat since Monday, with todays high set to top 110 degrees. The National Weather Service has extended its excessive heart warning through Friday due to temperatures expected between 105 and 115 degrees.
There are many dangers to prolonged exposure to excessive heat which includes potentially life-threatening impacts such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
Voluntary electricity conversation is being asked for between the hours of 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Customers can help prevent power outages by turning off all unnecessary lights and using major appliances before 2 p.m. and after 9 p.m.
Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
